Hit & Miss

Netflix now has Hit & Miss season 1.

HIT AND MISS, from Paul Abbott, creator of Shameless and State of Play, is a high concept and ambitious new series that follows Chloƫ Sevigny as Mia, a contract killer with a secret: shes a transgender woman. Mias life is sent into a tailspin when she receives a letter from an ex-girlfriend dying from cancer revealing that Mia fathered a son eleven years ago. Faced with a difficult decision, Mia becomes the guardian to a new family forcing her to mix her killer instincts with her newly developing maternal instincts. HIT AND MISS tells the story of a lethal killer at the heart of a troubled family and how all of their lives will be dramatically changed forever.

There is not a lot of action you would hope from a "hitman" show.  It is a decent show about a pre-op transgender learning about herself.  I recommend watching the full season 1.

Acceptance

Crossdressers want to look good.  They want to pass.  But more than that, they want to be accepted.  It's no different than any other person in this world.  We all want to be accepted for who we are (and who we can become). We want to walk into Cheers and hear "Candi!"

It makes me sad to not be accepted.  That is why any crossdresser will hide this part of their life from even their closest loved ones.  Some wives never find out.  Even though some things like men with long hair, ear rings, some even with makeup is accepted in society, crossdressing will be a long way away I am afraid.

My daughter is an example.  She doesn't want to see ANYTHING related to Candi.  I went to the stylist the other day and got my wig cut and styled.  Before I looked like Cousin It and after Julia Roberts (or that's how I remember it).  Without be knowing, B put my wig in rollers and left it in the bathroom to set.  My daughter refused to even go in the bathroom.  She doesn't want to see anything related to Candi. She isn't mean about it, just nothing to do with it.

I hope one day she is accepting of Candi.  I don't have to have full blown up excitement.  I would like her to be comfortable just being around me.  In all my different forms. Just like we all want.

Men In Skirts

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/sweden/10107704/Stockholms-male-train-drivers-wearing-skirts-to-work.html

Male train drivers in Stockholm have circumvented a ban on wearing shorts in the summer by coming to work in skirts.

Is it gender bias or just short sightedness?  Why is it ok for a woman to wear a skirt and a man cannot wear shorts?  These men figured out a way to show how ignorant the rule was.  They started crossdressing.
Now they are probably hoping to get to wear shorts in the near future and put up their skirts.  However, I would like to see acceptance adopted for men wearing skirts everywhere.  Really it just takes a few instances for it to spread.
This is a good step to showing 1) men in skirts is not bad and 2)Men can do it without feeling creepy :o).
